Tinted sunroof???
Tinted sunroof???
Alright, the previous owner had the sunroof tinted but the dealer removed it. I was told by a pro tint guy that practice is not smart due to heat. That advice was for my previous car that had a factory tinted sunroof, so then it would have really been hot. The tint on the Maxima's sunroof is not too noticeable. Anybody have any thoughts?
Thanks
Thanks

Wrong, wrong, wrong! Our sunroof is glass, not lexan like some others are. The Lexan causes the problems not the glass. I live down south and I had my suroof tinted with 18 % platinum, non dyed tint almost 4 years ago. I have had absolutely no problems with the 90-100 degree heat down here. Sounds like your tinter doesn't know there medium that they're working on. All my windows are 18%

I agree with you. I had my sunroof tinted along with my windows (15%) and have had no problems yet. We get plenty of 95-100+ degree days here as well. If it wasn't tinted, my head would be fried. I couldn't stand to have the sunroof shade open at all during the day without the tint. Now I get plenty of use out of it and the ambient light is nice sometimes. Just get it tinted, it should be fine.
also recently had my windows tinted and asked about the sunroof. the installer told me the same thing about it not being that safe due to heat build up. could be that these guys just don't know all the facts so they just play it safe.
Ive my roof tinted mirror and it looks awesome! From inside the car, you can see your own reflection at night, but still see out! It looks really hot during the day too, if you are every at an elevation above your car. It really stands out!
