I'd like to get the 15mm set, but b/c of the road debris in the winter, I would probably remove them. My question is: do they make open ended lug nuts so that I can keep the studs in, but remove the spacer? If so, who? Thanks.

Are longer studs needed for the 15mm?

Yes, the H&R set comes with them.

Sweet. Are you going 15mm in front and back? Or staggering?

The plan is just for the rear, but I want to make sure I can take them off easily in the winter before I get it done.

On 5th gens, will 20mm spacers in the rear cause rubbing?

Is there anyone out there who's tried fitting 20mm spacers in the rear?

I'm running 19x8 on 245 rubber btw...

Why would you want to remove them in the winter? I don't understand how road debris would affect the spacers.

I want to remove the spacers in the winter not to protect the spacer from road debris, but the paint behind the wheel. With the wheel further out, its going to throw cinder and salt right at the paint, and we all know how easily it chips.

18x8 35mm offset with 245/40 setup...will 15mm H&R spacers work without rubbing in the rear?

For what it is worth, I got H&R 20mm on my 2k1 rear wheels. I have a slight rub on one side, but it will be fixed tonight (get to try out the new dremel tool). The new Falken 512's must have a little more meat on them, because it never rubbed before (only over a hard bump with people in the back). Also it seems as though my car is a little further to that side, cause it only rubs on that one new tire.

I am still running with stock 17's. I found that the 20mm match up close with the front and get rid of the "tuck" look.

I also have 5mm for the front, but didn't feel like switching out the studs. Let me know if anyone is interested in them. I had them on the car for about 3 days.

Before you cut anything...I would swap out a tire/rim first (if you have not done that already). Might give you more info.

Colonel- Thanks, but I am only going to grind back a small part under the wheel well. It just barely rubs on the biggest bumps with a full load.

What are the differences between the DRS and DRM series? Which one is better?

DRS: spacer has holes thru which the hub-mounted studs protrude

DRM: the spacer uses the OEM studs to bolt the spacer to the hub and the spacer itself has five new studs pressed into it which are used to bolt the wheel onto the spacer.

DRS better because since the studs through-bolt to the wheels proper, the spacer is just spacing -meaning, it's not a highly stressed member- whereas on the DRM, the spacer itself is carrying all the load of the wheels...
