who has swapped from frankencar to injen?
who has swapped from frankencar to injen?
whos changed intakes? well, this isnt one of those which is better posts, yada yada ya..
i was just wondering who has made the switch and impressions? ive blown 2 mafs here lately with the frankencar, and just from reading have noticed that injens usually dont cause problems, but its probably all a coincidence.
just lemme know, im seriously thinking about swapping.. i know the HP/TRQ difference wont be nearly noticeable, correct? im just really worried about the sound output of the injen, because man this damn frankencar screams and i get so many compliments.
later fellas, have a great weekend.

I have a frankencar and I havent installed it because I'm worried about blowing the maf. So I am debating wether to go for an injen also.
mad_maxx03 out of the MAFs you blew up were any of the a 2003 MAF(A600)?

I had the FC 1st. I like it but would have to agree with the above poster
regarding the sound. The ingen has a deeper sound and better looking in the
engine bay. I have a 2k2 and used the FC for about 18000 mi. The ingen was
used for approx 13000 mi. I experienced no probs with either. Both are in my
closet as of now. Lately I like the quiet of the stock airbox.

I had the frankencar. I upgraded to the injen and I think there is a power difference in the lower RPM range. It still sounds great, but not as loud as a Frankencar. I have not regretted my deceision to change it yet.
I haven't had both, but from all I've ever read here, it almost seems like subjective whether FC vs Injen on the power question. It's like after you change your oil, car "feels" faster, even thought tht's not necessarily the case....but its a little smoother, so maybe your mind just wants to think it's faster. same with the intakes i bet....since they sound/feel a little different, someone who switches might just have a PERCEPTION that the injen is faster.
Then again, I may just be talking out of my a@@.

had both, injen first... then switched to frankencar cause I felt that the injen choked at high rpms and freeway speeds cause of the turbulence in the long piping.
now I don't have either, went another route.

I personally think Injen should be labeled a HAI..Hot air intake.....anyone who places their air filter behind the radiator, and can convince people to buy their product, deserves a prize.......Oh, they call it a CAI...
