Will 2003 taillights (oem) fit into 2000 GLE. Any mod need to be done or can it be done by just swapping them? How do you think it will look. charcoal grey ext. and light grey interior. Just wondering. THanks

I think it'll look good. I really like the 02-03 tails, besides the amber turn signal lens...

yes they will work. they might use different bulbs, but there's a harness on the assembly and they should be the same.

I swapped 2k3 tails into my grey lustre. Very easy install, I think it looks better than the 2k/2k1's

FusionAcid (answering you PM)

It was a direct, as far as price I traded with a fellow .org member so there was not a cost. I am at work now so I dont really have that many pics here, I may have a better before and after at home. I will look tonight. In the meantime you may want to check out Cardomain. There are lots of guys with grey lustre cars. If you buy them you may have an issue with the bulbs to where you have to buy a new harness. Check this link out for more info on that issue. Bulbs Hope this helps.

did you change your rims too? it looks like those aren't stock 2000. Looks like the newer stock ones, unless they started putting them on for special models on 2k? Anyone know? looks nice!

Those wheels are stock for 2k/2k1. The early 2000 SE's came with the 16" 5 spokes. The 2k2/2k3 wheels dont have the center cap covering the lugs.

msdins is right... those are the stock 2k/2k1 17" wheels. Thanks for the compliments..... we love this car, too bad I don't get to drive it much. I added the clear corners and she did not notice them til I pointed them out. Once she saw the colored ones on a car next to hers she was very happy with my decision!

Ok... you're entitled to your opinion. TRY this on for size if your slammin.... I think california is too expensive, dirty and over rated.

no haterization plz.
but yeah..opinions are always helpful.
I think they look awsome on that light blue'ish car. Although I am having doubts on putting them on my grey lustre. It won't look as good as I would like them to look on grey lustre. Somehow it doesn't match or something. No wonder I haven't seen any new max's that color. It will look good in pretty much all other colors. Don't know why. Possible 2k1 taillight smoke direction? opinions.....?

Sorry Lilmaxo... I was outta line on the last comment... my bad.

Fusion.... My thoughts are this.. the 2k2 tails look good on the light color cars (Tungsten blue, Satin Blue Pearl)

the 2k-2k1 SE tails look awesome on the black, majestic blue, etc........

Go with what you like and that is what matters.

Peace,
T

No prob... I entered that post and was like "awww man, I didn't mean that." It's all about preference...some like black leather others wont touch it. Either way, my preference is just that...my own. Thank you for the post, as I was outta line too.
Now lets everyone get back to talking cars!

Zachley! Same here....... I don't like black leather for an interior but on a sexy lady I would definitely touch it

so the question is.... what do you like most Fusionacid? It's your car and your choice!

yeah..i have rethought it...grey lustre does not look good with 2k2/3 taillights. I am thinking about 2k1 smoked taillights. Anyone actually did it..does it look good in real life or can you tell you painted it? PICS helpful aswell.
thanks
