Ok will first start off that I tried to install the AE shifter on my 2000 max and while going per instructions in the how to I managed to mess it up. So I asked DaveB how much a new shifter assembly was and decided to do something custom instead. So what I did was bought a 5spd shiftknob and boot and put it on. I also had taken out the O/D button out of old shifter and placed in the coib slot near the shifter. This is how it turned out. Yes I know the molded dash kit is messed up and new piece is coming, also I know the car is dirty.

True, that it is. I cant argue with that stament. Its very eye catchy. I just cant decide if I do or do not like it. Its kinda out there. I havnt seen anything like it so its still kinda weird to me. As long as you like it, thats all that really matters. I just am not sure yet Originally Posted by MyownNismo

I swear if I was sitting in your car, I would be tottally distracted by it. Id just be staring at it with a
look on my face.

I think you need to get rid of the auto console and go with a 5spd console trim in order to make it look right.
The narrow opening of the auto throws the whole boot look off.

I thought about that but i think the console would get in the way of shifting Since a manual stays roughly in the middle where the auto shifter goes down.Originally Posted by BigDogJonx

Blue2k2 what do you mean, how did I get the boot on the shiftknob or around the bottom.
Kinda matches the A/C bar.
That setup, but in gray, black, or in my case white for a white exterior would look HOT.

The shift boot has an alastic bottom and I just covered it over the shifter assembly. Also I everybody have there own taste. and the point is that I saved money doing this instead of buying a new shifter assembly.
