Rust Proofing them Grill Tech Grilles....

*BEFORE YOU READ, I AM VERY SORRY FOR POSTING THE LARGE a$$ PICTURES, CAN SOMEONE PM ME OR TELL ME HOW TO REDUCE THEM IN SIZE?? THANKS*

I was finally in the mood of fixing one of the worst investments i ever made. Here are some pictures of what they look like after and what I used. This job cost me about 20.70 and I was just wondering around Home Depot.

Time this took me - about 3 hours or so...... dont remember didnt keep track of time that much.

*note* this might be a easy fix for you, but for someone who has never had experience with this kind of work, im happy. Dont go flaming on me now.

BEWARE 56Kers!!!

This is the stuff I used above me...... ( you dont really need the wire brush, but my rust was awesome especially after the winter season. I also used Emery Cloth which did a great job taking off the rust. Rust-o-leum Automotive Primer, and then Rust-O-Leum High Performance Enamel Aluminum Colored)

I just went ahead getting rid of the rust. If you want to perfect it, you should used a really thin wire brush to get in between thoes holes. I was lazy, so I just brushed everything on top. Then I applied the primer. I did two layers of the primer on each side with 15 minutes of wait time in between. this is fast drying cans im using, so 15 was good enough. I applied the High Perf. Enamel on the grills. I did use masking tape to tape the black plastic sides because I actually like how they look like on the max. After two layers on enamel on the grills both sides. I went to sleep. Next day this is what i get.

Ok im done with this long as post. Hope this helps. I chose to pay 20 bucks and labor time versus a new JMS lower grille. Payce
