Not quite...

Nissan could try to void your entire warranty, but it is actually illegal for them to do so. They can, however, void anything having to do with the exhaust part of your car (warranty wise).

They would have to prove that the headers caused whatever problem you were having.

you'd have to be willing to fight it... do you have the time and money?

we go around and around with this issue.... "will it void the warranty?" All the dealer has to do is say "the headers caused your engine to run lean and that's why _____" happened" then YOU have to prove they're wrong.

the dealer near me said he'd void the warranty on any part between the intake and cat. if I put on an injen intake.... sounds dumb, but I don't have the time or money to fight them so I take it off whenever I bring it in.

if you're worried about this, wait until the warranty is up before putting headers on, or find a mod-friendly dealer.

you should read your warranty booklet carefully... Look for any statements regarding performance modifications. I'll read my booklet tonight. You might be able to fight them on a true internal issue, but I bet they screw you on anything emission or computer/sensor related. I wouldn't even put it past them to try "abuse" as a reason for a failure. An arbitrator might see headers as "evidence" you were an abusive owner. NOT THAT YOU ARE, but a Nissan rep would likely spin it that way.

Honestly I never heard that headers void warranty... dealer can throw you all his BS but that's another story, I would not hesitate to ask the service manager on how it can cause a focked up on the max ? If you know a thing or two about mecanics you know they cant BS you on that one. The only thing it can affect is the emission, because it remove both pre-cats, other than that it just make the car fart easier.

Cheers

Davis-Moore Nissan said they would void my powertrain warrantee if I added headers. The best thing to do is to return your car back to stock no matter how much of a pain in the butt it is.

Unless you know the service people well, or use a dealer that has a good aftermarket perfomance selection......consider your warranty a steamy pile of ....Nissan is like that .....
