Thanks for the question. Did you try clicking the "Click to Enlarge Image". We have some size parameters to keep the site loading at decent speeds. Hope that helps.

Yeah I did...but I'm not seeing how this lip is the "classic" since you took away the holes....

Is this true or will they be shipping with the holes?

I believe thats the one they are selling. This picture doesn't look like it has cutouts either.

Make the exact same lip as your Stillen Aero for the 00-01 with one important change...modify your cutouts to match the 02-03 factory cutouts and these things will sell like hotcakes.

Possibly b/c Stillen said it would be a replica of the 00-01 Aero lip and its not even close. They started taking payments without a final production picture, and now are advertising something that looks nothing like what they stated it would.

The Alti lip is wack. The pic above was during the build process. I am sure the cutouts had just not been made before the pic was taken.

Alti lip n:

Aero lip

I am running Linux right now and don't have access to Photoshop. If someone could color the Aero lip and black out the cutout areas then it would be a good comparison.

Perhaps the name is throwing things off. We have 2 designations for spoiler names: classic and touring. Touring has the venting on the side returns. Classic is a more subtle OE looking spoiler.

As far as the lip spoiler not being a carbon copy, just adjusted for the year model: If you compare the two year models, the newer model has a much larger hole in the lower valance section than the '00-'01. Spanning such a long distance with Urethane is not recommended. You'll see that in the 00-01 version, we still had to use a center support. But in that case, it was subtle and matched nicely with the car. We would have had to use an even larger center support with the 02-03 spoiler to help the urethane span the distance. That would have taken away from the look of the car. You would have seen the stock center support and then another larger (wider) center support below it. When you combine all the lines that would have started appearing and add them to the horizontal line that already spans the lower factory valance, it wasn't an attractive piece. So, in order to use urethane, which is our trademark, we had to make some adjustments in order to keep the product from sagging after it sat in the sun (ie. warm summer day sitting in a parking lot) and still maintain the looks of the car (and your cars). We wanted to make it a carbon copy or as close as possible - it would have been available a long time ago if that were possible. It would have required minimal effort to create that piece. But in order to do that you would have to switch to a fiberglass or more rigid material. But, we are not real fond of the long-term characteristics of fiberglass and the inherent risk of cracking, fitting and having to replace the whole spoiler if you tap a parking barrier by accident.

Sorry for the confusion. Hope this helps a bit.

Regards -

IGOR911 - the lip you see on the blue car is the actual urethane piece.

Sorry if there is/was any confusion.

There is the same blue car with TWO diff. lips on them...

Do we get the 01 replica or the newly designed ugly one?

I don't like it. I think the aero lip is perfect for a lip to add on the stock bumper. Now what we're lacking in is a nice, clean front bumper replacement.

Igor911 - the development photo you see is exactly what it is - a development photo. If you will read my previous explanation, you'll see why the piece is designed the way it is.

Thanks for compliment on our newly designed lip spoiler.

I agree 100%.. I might actually consider getting something for the front if there was a full, urethane/ABS plastic bumper replacement. Even if it does scratch over and over again...

I understand all that and Urethane is obvisouly the better choice. Ive have the original Aerokit for quite some time & am pleased with it. Even though it has a support in the center, it still looks great.
As far as the 2K2-2K3 kit goes, I see what you mean. The entire peice seems to wrap around the fron quite nicley w/o the use of the center support(s)
Here is the main thing that we really want to know though. We have two diff pics up in this thread.
Which front lip is the actuall one that you guys will be shipping out? The Photoshopped version that looks like an alti's replica...or the lip that you see were the guy is still making the prototype?

Was there a disclaimer from Stillen that the finished product may not look like the original picture that was posted? If not, people should be upset...

this is great, he posts one picture, people love the pciture and start ordering, then he posts a completely different picture of the production lip, that doesnt even resemble the prototype one bit.

that's some interesting marketing.

let me ask this, what would it take for stillen to start making the lip EXACTLY as it is in the picture of the prototype version?????

[/QUOTE]

See I think this lip looks ok i guess, but its even less agressive/attractive looking than the 2k-2k1 version....IMO other than the front lower rim it looks stock....

And by you guys posting Avalon Racings pic ......

you've misled alot of orgers who thought they were getting what was in the
picture.....

I'll continue to wait on my MaxxTuning lip since at least I know what it looks like...

To me, the lip in the pic above (in Manny's post) barely changes the look of the car. But to each his own. Oh how I want the modified Aero lip.

In all seriousness, I'd just like to thank Stillen for the work and for paying some attention to the 5.5 gen guys. Regardless of the opinions, which will be split no matter what, we appreciate it.
