Guys I got a serious issue. I have a 2K with 29K miles on it and I notice my clutch is starting to go out already. If I rev at let say 2500 RPMs and then hold the clutch right when it is trying to move the car, it vibrates and when I do let it go it doesn't come up in time. like its getting stuck to the floor and then I smell it burning. Damn its too early for my clutch to be going out. what are my options for aftermarket clutch on 2K? anyone one know? if I am gonna replace it I'ld rater have a after market then a nissan and have it go out again in 1 year. Damn I baby that thing too. I abuse the car but I baby the damn clutch. Any input??

uhmm... say if you rev the engine to 2500 and ease or drop the clutch??? Well, the vibrations could be from a symptom called wheelhop... normal... I get it, many front drive cars do that especially when it's wet. But as for the burning smell, that's your clutch you're burning. I personally try not to rev the engine past 1200-1500 when I start up. I usually try to do it below 1000 but then once in a while I don't rev enough and stall, but that's rare.

Anyways, I would say try not to rev so high. But if you do and ease the clutch in you will burn the clutch especially if you give it more gas and let the clutch out slower. I know this from experience... by accidnet, burned it by moving the car 3 feet trying to parallel park. dumb me, reved too much by accidnet.

You may also have noticed a groaning sound that some 5sp owners including me have noticed while starting to move especially up an incline. Well I have been able to replicate it, and it usually does that when it's cold and if I rev a little more and let the clutch slip a little... anyway that's just extra info. If you are really worried, tell the dealer and have then check it out. My car is 8 months old and 16700 miles. I'm watching it though for problems that come up and if anything does, I'm going to the dealer and get them fixed before warrenty expires.

hope that helps

U replied twice homez. but my problem is not what you think. The wheels are not moveing. the vibration is internal to the tranny and I can feel it through the clutch pedal. I know the wheel hop deal. but this is while the car is still standing still. The best way to launch the 5spd Max is to rev to about 2500 and steady and ease the clutch out. My problem is when I ease the clutch out the pedal feels like it wants to stay to the floor even with my foot off of it. the vibration is comeing from the throwout bearing inside the tranny.
