Getting CAI.. need advice on CAIs.

I just wanted some feedbacks from everyone with CAIs. Which CAI is good? Also, anyone got Place Racing CAI? I was leaning toward that.. I want a nice deep sound. That's what i'm aiming for. Anyone info would be helpful

Thanks.

I dont know if the place racing intake is wise. I just recently tried to install the pipe and i'm having fitment issues between the fuse box and the battery. The only way the pipe will fit is if I have the fuse box unbolted. I followed the instructions on the .org shoptalk as well. so right now i just have the maf adapter and my filter.

I just ordered a PR CAI this past friday (2 actually 1 for my girls b-day). I tried going through Cattman but they only had black in stock. Place Racing had all the colors in stock also. I havent got it yet so i cant comment on the sound but ive hear it was deep. I used to have a PR midpipe and filter in my 97 and it sounded real nice. I went with the CAI because it would give me a true CAI and i could have the option of switching between a WAI and a CAI. The guy at Place Racing was cool to deal with and even swapped in the K&N filters that they dont normally use (they use monsterflow).

If you need their number its 626-334-3345
Good luck

Yes it is a 4th gen. But it runs on the same basis. Unless I'm a big donkey d!ck. Place Racing owners if you could please post pics of the intake installed in your car.

Fitting the PR CAI in my car was very challenging. My hole was slightly off so I ended up having to saw off a couple inches of the piping to get it to fit, even then it was almost impossible. I also am not using the battery tray and battery cover, only way I could get it to fit. If I can get a hold of my digital camera i'll get a pic of mine installed. The PR CAI is definitely worth it though once you get it in.

oh **** eh. Tell me you used that big drill hole for a pilot? Thats what I did and my ****ty drill burnt up with the stupid hole saw. I had it setup like that but the battery moves around alot!!!!!! Do you have an alternative way of bolting down your battery?
