Dashboard trim
Dashboard trim
I've had a problem with the passenger vent piece (a long thin 15 inch plastice piece which fits above the air bag area and just below the windshield -has vents in it to allow the defroster to provide air). It seems that the piece has a tendency to come loose on the right side of the piece and it sticks up about an half inch or so. I looked at the driver's side and noticed that the vent piece has a round fastner holding it in place...but not on the passenger side. Anyway, I lifted the piece up on the right side to see why it is not holding properly. There appears to be a plastic claw which should probably snap into the dashboard top...but it just won't. I guess I could take it in under warranty...but I'm afraid some tech just might make the situation worse. Anyone have this problem and solved it (or knows of a way to make the piece snap in and stay down)?
JCW915, that's most likely what I will do...but I have to tell you that when I look at it (raising it about a third up) I can see that the clips appear to be fine...it's just that they're not grabbing anymore. And I have pushed/pressed down as hard as I can I think that the factory screwed this up because it's been like this since I bought the car new.
