Regular 222, Anniversary 227. Torque is the same. the engine in Anniversary is from infinity

Answer above is correct from an advertising standpoint, AE is rated at 227, & the non-AE at 222, except that no one on this board -not even the techie pundits who have been here since the Org was created and the Gen5 first launched- have ANY FLAMING CLUE as to how Nissan got the extra 5 hp in the AE version.

Every possible avenue has been pursued with all fact-finding yielding the same results....the AE and non-AE cars have the same engines, same ECUs, same intake and exhaust systems, same everything except the sales brochures...

Go figure

No it is not. I have exactly the same two-stage, dual-flow muffler that it is every single AE car I've seen plus I have checked and eyeballed EVERY SE muffler I have seen.

You guys too fell for the marketing BS...that's exactly what the AE brochure says is producing the extra 5 hp....unfortunately it's a bunch of hooey....

muffler is the same besides the tips. the b pipe has a different part number than regular 2k1 and the ecu has different part numbers as well. check the ts thread for confirmation or check nissan part listing on the fast cd. 5hp is probably the tolerance of each cars power from car to car. i didnt buy it for 5hp so that doesnt really affect me and i got it for the same price as the regulars and there are only about 10k made compared to the mass amounts of regular se, gle, and gxes.

i got OWNED

next time i go to the dealer, i'll ask the master tech how nissan can make hp claims like how a magician pulls a rabbit out of the hat.

B-pipe different, huh? Well, allright, I might be owned as well because that's one that I never checked and yes, the stock B-pipe is indeed pretty restrictive. Nnever ocurred to me to check that....

ECU not different from a programming standpoint....the different P/N could be a probably a flash upgrade or some drivability TSB or something like that because my ECU is = as AE ECU part number...I have a 'late build' non AE.

Looks like it could be the b-pipe which curiously, is not mentioned in the Nissan literature as being responsible for anything...

these are facts confirmed for USA spec Anniversary Edition maximas from a friend who is a Nissan master technician:

-different fuel maps (different ECU and part #)
-different b pipe
-different exhaust (the two downward tips) instead of the straight tips on the gxe/gle and chrome sleeve on the SEs

oh .. and I forgot
-vlsd transmission in both autos and 5spds
-anniversary edition aero kit
-gold tinted headlights
-darker tinted 17 in AE rims

IMO, the the vlsd tranny on the AE is what ALL SE's should have been equipped with

i've heard that all canadian maximas are vlsd equipped

The heated seats is not exclusive to the AE. It comes with the meridian option package for GLE's and SE's

Can someone confirm that the Meridian option package on the AE has a higher wattage BOSE stereo with dual subs on the rear deck. Not sure about this but I could have sworn I saw this on the Nissan website couple months after i got my AE.

go on a dry road. rev up to anywhere above 3k and dump the clutch. if you leave 2 black marks then you have vlsd. if you only leave one then you dont. if you dont want to do that, then you could put it up on a lift and spin one tire in the front. if the other rolls in the same direction then you have it. there is a way tell by VIN decoding but i do not know what is.
