How much torque...

how much torque do you need to tighten the bolts on the wheels? I'm putting back my original rims and i don't know how much to tighten the wheel nuts...i don't have a torque wrench so roughly how many turns would that be?

If you had a torque wrench, it should be set between 72 and 87 ft-lbs.

Manually, this actually isn't too much, as the nuts can actually be removed without much effort. When I used to have my Civic, I used to manually tighten the nuts by actually stepping on the included wrench until I heard the metal-on-metal rubbing sound. Now I know that meant waaaay too much torque.

Manually, I would tighten each nut until you can't easily push the wrench to loosen the nut. I can't say exactly how many turns that is, though. I hope that makes sense. But I would recommend investing in a torque wrench to get the nuts to the right setting just in case.

Peace.

Yeah, I've tightened steel wheels by stepping on the tire iron--that is GROSSLY way too much torque, actually it's probably more than double what is recommended. You do NOT want to do this with alloy wheels. 72-87 ft/lbs isn't really weak, but it's not as tight as you'd think. Best buy a torque wrench (1/2" drive click-type) to be sure.
