BlackBIRDVQ has a VQ30, so that's a little hard.

You guys work on that though.

Speaking of which, Adam, are you coming to the meet the 18th (Marietta Dave and Busters)? we can start our planning there
I've thought about it, don't know if I'll have time or not. I have a lot going on around the house, that and my warehouse guy may need to get in at work for some O/T and I'll need to let him in if he calls.

You should have my number, your more than welcome to come over. We could toss back a few beers and shoot a game or 2 of pool and hash it all out. I live right off PIB north of 120, it's 1 subdivision south of where Sugarloaf now ends at PIB.

Try to get a hondata-like intakemanifold gasket made for our cars while you've got these beautiful pictures made.

How do you intend to make that work?

Those things crack like mad when they heat up anyway.

They have a live time warranty, so if they crack you get another one.

This isn't an attempt to make it work on the Max. Lloyd is the one who bought it for his G35c. We're just going to test fit it and check for clearance issues and maybe see how it runs before we install it on his car. It was ordered on Friday, we'll probably get it towards the end of the month.

Justin and I would appreciate any info you'd be willing to share as far as getting it to run correctly. Personally I think there'll still be the hood clearance issue, but hell it's something new and the pics we take may even offer you some info on your project. If so cool, if not hopefully we'll all learn something from this.

If it cracks on is car we'll just see how Kinetix honors its "lifetime warranty".

Plenty of people have gotten new ones. It takes awhile though. I don't think you get a new one till they come out with a new version. They are already on version 5. They say the new one is very sturdy and strong.

I am putting the custom one on the back burner again now that i know I can make the stocker flow enough to use up the given RPM range.

IMO the aftermarket plenums for the G35/350Z are a waste of money. If you really want to add top end power just buy the SSR upper manifold for those cars.

hmm i haven't had a chance to get to kinetix yet, I'm still finishing up the energy suspension project. I'll roll down when we're done with that.

SR20DEN : Pity that ur putting the custom manifold on the back burner. Any chance of clueing the rest of us in on your secret modification?

As I have told everyone else, I will sell it as a complete unit once I get mine dialed in correctly and have a good way to supply the demand. And at the time I will encourage those who want it to obtain a spare manifold to send in instead of the stock one on their cars. I also have plans of a stage two which will move the powerband further up for those who have or intend to get the TS ECU.

That is the reason I have decided not to persue the custom setup at this time. Why drive the expense/cost up for minimal gains over a modified stock one?

Spare IM, meaning upper and lower parts, or just the upper plenum?

Man i got to see one of these for myself yesterday on a 350z. I am no mechanic by any means and the way i saw that thing mounted on the 350z made it look like there is no way in hell that thing would fit the 3.5L max. I guess the looks could be decieving

I think maximaman777 will be able to let us know IF the thing will bolt up and IF possible, then Kinetix would just need to reangle the inlet portion.

However, due to hood clearance, you *MUST* use a 350z lower intake runner manifold. Ethan(emax95) already tried putting a 350z stock manifold on his and said it won't fit with the Maxima lower intake manifold, so the Kinetix will be the same.

As for the "cracking" and "version 5" comments, can you guys provide links? I've only seen the "version 5" in relation to the Crawford modified STOCK intake manifold and the "cracking" on the FIRST batch of Kinetix most of which was from people over torquing a COMPOSITE material like it was the stock metal material.

If those aren't what you guys are seeing, please show me.

Okay, that looks like there is now a version three, no version 5 out, right?

Also, out of 10-votes, only 1 v3 has a crack so far.

Yep I think the version 3 is the latest. He said he just got his version 2 and when he recieved it kinetix called him and asked if he wanted to return it for the version 3 so he exchanged it.

And history repeats itself.
I suppose none of you remember that Ethan tried this already. The 350Z manifold will NOT fit.

IIRC, wasnt it a hood clearance and TB orientation issue?
