Yes, and the lower intake manifold *MIGHT NOT* solve that or be *ANY* different.

Something else I'm hoping maximaman777 will be able to eliminate besides the bolting up issue, since I don't believe Ethan ever finally bolted it down.

You'll forgive me if I say we would prefer to actually try to make it work rather than take someone's word on it that it won't. There's not nearly enough information or trial and error in this particular matter for my tastes, which is precisely the reason Adam and I will be trying this out. If we find a way to make it work, or find a way to get the intake easily adapted to suite our needs, then I assure you, we will have accomplished something good. Even if nothing works out, it's still good in that it will be absolute proof that this particular idea will not hold water...

Matt, any new developments that you'd be willing to share with the entire .orgy, or is it a possible money loss matter to discuss anything at this time (custom intake)?

Very true. We have no idea if the bolt holes will even line up on this thing...

Guys?
Based on your diagram, it appears as though parts #11 & 4 are required:Diagram
Please confirm.

Couldn't you have Kinetix do a rubbing of the bolt holes from the underside of the manifold and fax that to you!? Then you could see if it will line up to our stock holes before getting to deep in the modification.

I quoted a question that was directed to SR20 & Blu, therefore my question was also directed towards SR20 & Blu. Thanks anyways.

anybody ever install this manifold on there maxima ?

I wonder if you install the nwt intake spacers as well if you would get around 22 hp together and 26 lbs ft torque

what do u all think ?

Nearly as much gain as headers and a much easier install.

Once you get past 20-25 mph, you'd pull harder the rest of the way.

Anyone do this and the intake spacers? I wonder if the spacers help you get back some of the 3000-3800 rpm loss?

I got the block plate(VIAS delete) and GAB w/K&N....
It's felt WAY better than stock...

With the stock airbox before, I bogged and rocked when punching it (the VIAS opening under compression made a delay) because of poor throttle response.

did the GAB + K&N and throw the NWP block plate on and voila...
much better gains I feel.

do you have a 3.5?

as far as the 3.5 plenum kinetix from the 350z it will fit both the 3.5s and the 3.0s. you just need a 350z LIM, but with the 3.0 guys you have to do a little port matching, I just ordered a LIM for $0 and I'm going to take pics of how it matches up with the 3.0 heads.

Anyone with an automatic do the block off plate? The top end charge looks good but at freeway speeds, I'd be right on the dead zone so it seems part throttle response would be a bit soft. Plus when you get on it at 60 and it only drops to 3rd, you have a bit of time before it gets to 3800 rpm and pulling harder. I wouldn't mind the extra power from 3800 rpm up but I don't want to sacrifice drivability.

If as said, the intake + spacers is a 22 hp/26 lb-ft gain, then yes, that is about the same as headers and for a lot less labor.

Nope. Haven't decided exactly what I want to do to the car, but the block off plate sounds promising, assuming the lower power between 2800-3800 rpm doesn't mess up drivability and throttle tip-in too bad with an automatic. Probably that, UDP and the intake spacers will be my first mods beyond the easy stuff like GAB.

Yearly emission testing here and they really looked over the area where the O2 sensors were when my car was last inspected. I'd have to make sure O2 sims were well hidden if I want to go with headers.

Peak values = poo poo.

I gained nearly 20 whp w/ just a POP charger.

Area under the curve is what really means more.

True, but the dyno sheet shows gains most of the way through the rpm range with the Kinetix intake and even at low end it was at least the same as stock.

I just took out the butterfly and slapped the NWP plate on.. Haven't driven much, but the low end loss isn't big enough for me to worry about.. Getting on the freeway and quickly merging into traffic was much more quick and linear than before, so that was an immediate difference from before.. I'll throw some more feedback up as I test out the car on all surfaces..

That's what I was hoping to hear.

BTW, how do you like the Transgo Shift Kit?

1-2 is tighter when steady accelerating with a slight nudge. Slow stop and go 1-2 is jerky.. The rest of the gears are tighter with minimal difference in comfort. Overall a nice mod.. I still need to get a tranny cooler and will likely be swapping the solenoids if this little spike issue keeps showing its ugly little head.

Are you talking about the 2-3 spike when cold?
