5th gen speaker questions

My stock interior speakers on my 2001 are pretty much blown i was looking for what size i need for the front and rears, but all those things on crutchfield confuse me. anyone who has replaced their interiors please help me out..........so heres my questions.

1. what size do i need front and rear??

2. do i need an adapter to mount them??

3. should i use components or coaxil speakers....or do the front component and rear coaxil???

1. 6.5" front and rear

2. some make adaptors out of MDF (see my website, page 5 for pics) some buy rings from Crutchfield.

3. Component set up front if you have SE or GLE (GXE doesn't come with tweeters) Coaxial in the rear

Adaptors for Front Speakers

You can also make "adaptors" by using the basket from your old drivers. I found this works better than the ones supplied by Crutchfield, and retains the factory seal / hardware of the OEM speaker. It does, of course, destroy your old speakers (this is a non-refundable, one way ticket).

I have provided step-by-step details including photo's at the attached link:

By the way, my GXE DID come with tweeters mounted in the pillars (Clarion). Didn't do much, though. Disconnect these when installing your new component speakers.
