350Z horns...low vs. high freq?

I was thinking of installing these on my 2KSE. For those who have them installed, which freq. sounds better, the low or high? The stock horns are weak and I want to be heard when blowing my horn. Thanks!

When you buy the kit from dave burnette, you get both horns. I did this mod ages ago, and I dont know why nissan didnt do it from the factory...

Thanks for your replies. Silly me, I didn't know they both were included together as a set. I thought you had a choice between a low freq. set or a high freq. set. How do they sound? How do they compare to the Altima's horn? Which is better?

I can make you a sound clip of what the Z horns sound like. Hit me on AOL instant messenger (screenname E55AMG2) and I can file transfer it to you.

How much were they? I see that Courtesy sells them for around $45.00. The directions are written in Japenese. Is it just plug-n-play when installing them?

they are plug and play. No instructions really needed. Just need an 8mm ratchet.

Loosen the nuts on the back side of each horn, then unplug the spade connector.

Remove the nuts, and then take the horns off.

replace the old horn with the new one by taking it off of the included mounting bracked by removing the nut, then do the reverse of taking off the old horn, but using the new hardware.

Press the horn to make sure it works.

Total time, 8 minutes.

JDM and US are the same horn, being that they are both made in the US by the same company. The only difference is the language thats on them.

who wants sound clips?

Those that plan to buy a set from www.courtesyparts.com - please be aware that these are drifferent from the horns that come stock on a 350Z. They have higher frequency, so they'll sound different.

Also, does anyone know which one of the two stock horns on a max is the high frequency one (left or right)?

Order the horns from dave burnette. The horns that courtesy has are actually for the 2004 maxima. They do have a slightly higher pitch than the ones on the 350 Z. His # is 1888-254-6060

Actually i believe the OEM's are 400hz and 500hz.....while the JDM's are higher pitched 550hz-650hz.....

confusing....so what does this mean....

{These 350Z Sport Horns are sold by Nissan, in the Japanese domestic market (JDM), as accessory horns.
High horn: 650Hz (500Hz-EURO) / Low horn: 550Hz(400Hz). }

Just order the ones that are OEM. The accessory ones dont do anything better. They are pretty much the same pitch as on the 04 maxima. Ive compared them side by side and the Z has the lower of the two pitches.

I am makin the sound clips tonite, anyone who wants them, IM me and I can file transfer them to you...

Oh, no! Are you serious? I've just ordered a set of JDM ones, and I'll be receiving them on Monday. I was looking for the OEM Z sound. I thought the JDM's were close to that. Oh well, I might send them back and get the OEM ones. That Trademotion (Nissan) site sells the horns seperate, right? Oh, I don't have IM, but is there any other way I can hear sound clips?
