would it be possible to put the 6-speed tranny froma 3.5L in a 3.0L, and has anyone tried that yet?

hmm. doubt it would bolt right up, and why in the hell would you do that?

 

to loose power at the wheels. To have a imprecise shifter, to have a slower 1/4 mile.

 

Because im considering an auto to manual swap, wanted to explore possibilities, thanx for your input

 

One member did it with his 4th gen, but he said there was not a performance gain and it was not easy.

 

Are you sure about that? i had a modded 2k2 6 speed and it was fast... had to sell do to lack of $$$

 

Reason I say 6spd will be slower is that you have to shift more- which slows down the car. 5spd U can hold the gear longer- as in 100MPH in 3rd. I was told 80MPH is max on a 3.5L in 3rd by my friend who has one. I would think a 5spd 3.5L Max would be faster. I still think 5spd is more precise feeln and stronger than the 6spd.

 

what 1/4 mile do u run, if u dont mind me asking, i just see that u have some nice mods that should pu u in the low 14s..

Hey i just checked out ur profile,i met u at a nissan meet a while ago. i think it was in the busse woods, i still had the 2k2 max silever.

 

the one with the Stillen lip ? I'm hopping to run something like a 13.8 on slicks. I ran a 14.1 last year- since then I added some more stuff. I'm still debating if I wanna get headers or JIC Magics.... I'm almost set on the Magics.
