Starting problem

Okay, so occasionally my car-at startup-will rev up and then just die. The RPM's go up to the levels they normally reach when i start the car and then it nose-dives. If I give it gas during the rev-up period, the car will start up successfully. This only happens after I have driven the car for a short period...say from my house to the donut shop. When I get back in the car, the car will act this way. If the car has been driven a long time, it never happens....just after a short first drive of the day. Any thoughts? Thanks!

get a good fuel injector cleaner. you might also have to tighten your throttle lines a little bit... that should increase your idle rpm

have you checked your battery? it's not just there to supply cranking power but also supports the electrical system during the first 5-10 seconds or so till the alternator can take over with ignition.
