How do I know if I need to replace my MAF?

I've heard so much about them going bad on the 00-01's. Just wondering what the signs are to replace mine? Thanks.

maf failures were/are much more prevalent on earlier 2k2 models. with a maf going bad, you will get hesistation and stumbling. when it fails, you will have severe driveablilty issues. it will not rev over 3k rpms and will typically illuminate the check engine light.
