2K Air Conditioning Unit Making Wierd Noise...

Does anybody else have a noisy AC unit? It sounds like its whining, like bearings are going out, at around 3000 rpm. I have 43K miles and it started sounding wierd right after warranty expired. Figures.... Does anyone know of any TSB's out on the AC unit? I searched for the problem but had no luck. TIA for any input...

Yes, mine is noisy also. I think that you are correct why you say bearings. Your best bet is just turn up the radio and live with it until it fails. I kinda just put it out of my mind so it doesn't upset me. If it gets really loud, then by all means replace it.

Heat Blower Noise

I have a 2k1 and experiencing same noise when I turn on the heat. The noise doesn't happen all the time but really gets annoying listening to it after awhile. It seems to happen the most when car is cold and fan is low. After several minutes the noise goes away and doesn't come back for several days or weeks. The car is still under warranty and when the dealer inspected the problem, they said they removed some leaves and sticks from the blower and that the problem should be solved. Guess what.......? The noise came back after several days and again bugging the crap out of me. I have an appointment with the dealer again this week and hopefully the noise will be there for them to correct the problem.

If a customer indicates that a light ticking or humming noise can be heard coming from the
blower motor of an applied vehicle when the motor is run at low fan speeds (speed 1 or 2),
a new, noise reducing blower motor cover is available.
