New Wheel Mounting

I just bought a new set of wheels and I went to Town Fair Tire to get the tires, they said they can mount and balance the set but they can't mount them on the car because of liability issues (I didn't buy the rims there). Whats the procedure for mounting a new set of rims, torque amount, etc?

What? Never heard of that.

I'm assuming you know how to mount the new wheels. You might need hubcentric ring. I torque mine to 80-82 lbs.

Hubcentric rings are made to fill the gap between the hub of the car and the center bore of the wheel. They prevent vibration problem on your aftermarket rims.

Unless your rims came w/ them, you'll probably need to buy a set since most aftermarket rim's hub bore is bigger than hub of our vehicles.

Try these

Most New rims require...............

Most new rims require a hubcentric ring the size needed for our 5th generation are 66.1 mm hubcentric rings I bought mine through Tire Rack for $5 bucks each. The rims I bought had 70mm hubcentric rings & I had to change them out. Hope this helps.

So the size of the rings needed is wheel specific? How do I find out what particular hubcentric ring size my particular wheel needs?

He just told you. The inner diameter of the ring needs to be 66.1 millimeters. The outer diameter of the ring would be whatever the inner diameter of the hub of the wheel is. You can get the rings from almost any wheel and tire shop.
