Sick max - upshifting problem

My car is not well. After i reset the ECU by unplugging the battery cable, my tranny started having trouble upshifting 1st to 2nd. In the begining it was just hesitation at around 2500, now I press on the gas, the RPM needle goes up, but the car doesnt speed up much, it doesnt sound like the RPMS go up and the car doesnt up shift. I pushed it to 6000 with no upshift and then I let it go cause I was afraid of some major damage. It doesnt do it all the time but even once is to many. Any ideas what it could be before I take it to the mech?

Whats TCM?

Btw, could it be not transmission related like MAF or Coils?
