Spoiler Brake Light is OUT, HELP!

Maxima 2000 GLE
My rear spoiler brake light is out. I was thinking if i can do it myself. Do any of you know what is the specific part and model i need to get for fixing the rear spoiler brake light? Nissan told me it will cost $195 to replace it. Does anyone know where I can buy it online and directly replace it without doing any modification to the light assembly. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

yeah, its not the bulb's....its the led assembly bar. Nissan wants $195 just for the part. That is retarded. I told the guy, i could buy a whole new spoiler w/ lamp for that much. He showed me the price for a spoiler..he's like look..its $700. I'm like yeah whatever dude R.I.P OFF!!!. No way in hell i'm paying $200 for a led light. And 2k3TitaniumSe is right, its like 35 LEDs or something. Still waiting....please let me know.

Thanks

You can get led break lights from elecrtodyne.cc, click on freedom design then brake lights and you can choose from many configurations. Thet even have a clear one that has red leds. Hope this helps.

BTW the lights are arround $25-30 depending on what you need, I'd say thats a bit less than what the dlr told you. Do it yourself with a z screwdriver and some new silicone.

No Plug In Play Part?

Yah i checked electrodyne. I read K Pazzo 6's How to on changing to clear brake led. I think he has to shave off 2 tabs or something. And also use a drill of some sort to do something with the wires? I need more info on what mod needs to be done to the light assembly and spoiler. There isn't a model on there where i can just replace it without doing that extra stuff.

Probably depends on what spoiler you have. My GLE had an aftermareket one not one from Nissan and mine has 4 tabs on it and the nissan one I think has 3 tabs. Worst case senerio you could take the spoiler off the deck lid to work on it but that would be a PITA.

Ok , i have 4 tabs. I looked up on electrodyne and found this. http://www.electrodyne.cc/Merchant2/...ct_Code=555111

my light is 15.5 , more like 15.7 when i measured it though. but close enough. I think it has about 35 LED's aswell.

My question is, do i need to solder it because if you look at KPazzo6's website. He solders the wire.

http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...=259701&page=8

IF anyone bought this or the clear light from electrodyne. does anyone know if it comes with the 35 LED bulbs too (is it the whole assembly) or is this just the cover for the spoiler light? I'm alittle confused...

also...does anybody think that the problem is not my LED's. Could it possibly be a fuse or something...because LED lights usually last very long. does anyone know where the fuse for the spoiler light brake is anyways? how should I check it
