Looks like i will be getting my 5th maxima in 3 years soon! :)

Hey guys:

Well, i decided to sell my 99 SE-L. I really always had my heart set on a 5th gen, so i am finally going to get one. I already have a down deposit on the new car, and now i am waiting for someone to buy my my 99 SE-L. Here are the specs for the new car:

2002 SE max
12,358 miles... (realy freaking low!!! )
Sliver exterior
black leather interior
6 speed!!
every single option avlb. on the 2k2.

all for..... $20,990. which is not too bad. kbb rates it for $20,550 froma dealer, so it is not to far off.

it sucks though, because now i have to pay $300 a/mo for the loan, and $442 a/mo for full insurance... i'll be glad when that is over.

but i will post pics of the new car AS SOON AS POS!!!

Does anyone want my old car???

$442 a month for insurance? Holy ****, I could never pay $5.5k a year for insurance, not for a maxima at least.

And I thought the 18,500 miles on my 2K2 was low!! Nice find!

Welcome to the world of 3.5. I love my 6 speed.

Are you purchasing it from a dealer or private party. If its private, $20k is over priced. Should go for around 17k-18k. If its a dealer that sounds about right but they could come down a little.

Thanks for the welcome!

the car is perfect... i mean no flaws what so ever. rides beautifuly, and the engine doesn't even seem like it is on. it is so weird driving that car though. (test drive) the way the clutch and shifter feels are completely diffrent from a 4th gen. (i am not sure if any of you have drive a 4geth 5spd before your car now) but the clutch has no weight or feel to it, it is took me a good 5-10 mins to really "feel the clutch" and the shifter is very nothcy... as in is clicks into place instead of just sliding. i love that though, and the clutch pedal is something i will get used to, but it is better for long trips.

i am getting the car from a dealer, i looked it up trade in for the 2k2, and it is at just under 17k, and they are selling it to me for 21k. so i think i will do a little bargining. hopefully everything goes as planed, but it will suck for a while with the monthly bill.

as for insurance... yeah, it is damn high, but it is better then the 17 thousand a year that i got from some other companys. $442 mo will go down as soon as i turn 21, (11/01 of this year) and it will also go down because he can give me a discount if i have had pior insurance with them.

i love the car, and ca't wait to get it... i really wish i can sell my car faster.

but i am looking forward to modding this car up like my last ones (present car exculded since i knew i wasn'y going to keep it for long)

Man, nearly $21K for a 2 year old last generation Maxima seems very expensive to me. I know the miles are low, but I've seen quite a few lower mileage (15K-30K miles) 2002 auto and 6 speed Maximas in the Kansas City area going for $17K-18K. Maybe it's just the region I live in.

it is the avg price, a cars value always changes by location.

paying 442 a month for insurance is unheard of. Something is fishy for under 21. I know my insurance when i was under 25 was no where near 442 a month, the highest I know of is 298 a month I have paid. What kind of driving record do you have, you sound like you had a lot of red marks on your record considering that you're paying $442 a month

yeah, i know it is rather high.... i have 2 accidents, one just came off my record, and the other the insurance company didn't have to pay out because i hit a wall.

insurance is always high for me, and i have called almost every company out there. it stinks, but i love maxima's, and i know them inside and out, so i do not mind paying the high rate for a while, especially for such a perfect cond. car.

I would strongly advise you to keep your old car a few more years. Paying over $700 a month is way too much. Especially when insurance costs more than the car note. There is also the possibility of your insurance going higher if you suffer from HID theft. What kind of deductible do you have? I don't know your finances but that is not a financially sound decision IMHO.
