Quick Horn Question??

My Hella horns sound hella funny, I wired them up like it said in the Instructions for cars with two horns. I mounted them in the stock locations. Has anyone else done it this way or have pics of how they wired theirs? I read that the sound more manly, but mine don't.....maybe its just me and my perception of manly.

Did you run a ground wire for each horn?

No, I ran a wire from one to the other, then from the one up in the engine bay I ran a ground wire.

I'm not sure if insufficient grounding would make them sound 'funny'. On my 2K2, both are mounted behind the grille so it was easy to ground them both. I don't remember if the instructions said to ground both of them.

Do each of your horns have a diffeent frequency? IIRC, mine are 300 and 500 hz.

Are these the supertones? Mine are NUTTY loud though the pitch is still on the higher side.

My '03 has two seperate positive leads. I just made shoort jumpers for the grounds.

It sounds like you wired yours in series. Mine are defintely wired in parallel.

I just read the directions I have, and none of the diagrams show running a wire from one to another. Each have individual grounds and positive leads. If you wire them in series, I am pretty sure you effectively cut the wattage in half, so you'll get only 50% out of each.

They are louder then the stock but still has the wimpy sqeel, just louder. I guess I'll try grounding them seperately, see if that helps at all.
