If your car catches fire, you run. Not to the back of your car to pop the trunk and get your fire extinguiser. No. You run and call the Fire Dept. :P

Thanks, genius. But you may or may not know that "other" things besides my car could conceivably catch on fire....Hell, I was at the store on Friday and there's a trash can on fire - somebody tossed a burning cigarette in there probably, and one of the supermarket employees was spraying it with (surprise!) a fire extinguisher.

The point is - better safe than sorry. Never know when you might have to use the thing.....not necessarily on your own car but on something else, someone else, etc....

Having it isn't HURTING anything. But even if there's a 0.01% chance it might come in handy one day, it's worth having it.

BTW - the extinguisher is just the right size to be used as a weapon as well

it's all good newbie - just that your statement was made several times in the seperate thread that was about the Fire Extinguisher so it's a little "old" to me....this thread was about the first aid kit

BTW that thread is also a funny discussion of what "is" and what "isn't" a mod ...it got a little mean though and got locked!

I've been carrying a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher in my Max since the 90's. So far, I have not had to use either one in an emergency but it's nice to have them just in case. Good job on your mods irish.

You're welcome. Those pics were to show how gas is priced and pumped. It has to do with the thread about decimals in the gas prices.

that's the coolest nerd-mod ever. Yeah, some regard safety items and seat belts for suckers, but if that's the case, call me a sucker. Better safe than sorry...

I now officially have the safest maxima in the world....
Fire extinguisher "mod"
Mag-lite "mod"
and the new "First-aid kit mod"

ok...I know others have done this too, but here's a couple shots of where I mounted it...also moved the fire extinguisher to the left of where it was so as not to block cargo as much. The first aid kit I painted black so it would blend in....

Are you getting ready to go to EUROPE?

It's a long trip.... You need things like that in cars in Europe!

I know...I lived in Europe. My Lancia Integrale had fire extinguisher, first aid kit, flares, rear fog lights, etc. etc. etc. (all were OEM equipment).
