Car jerks in 1st and 2nd

Well I fixed my problem by replacing the MAF and all was fine for awhile. Now when just trying to drive at slow speeds (<20mph) in first especially the car is jerky when i take my foot off the throttle or put it back on. Started doing it in 2nd some now too. Again this only happens when trying to go slow and accelerate or decellerate and only for a slight moment, then it does fine. Sometimes though it gets kinda violent if I don't step into the peddle more. Is my intake messed up from cleaning it, another sensor gone bad?? Any advice would be appreciated. Car was so cool there for awhile!!!

Maybe I just can't drive a manual, but I know it is worse then before, and the clutch is already out, so that isn't my fault. It is just when slowing down in these two gears and trying to drive under 20mph

It's a pain... I think it's a quirk of the Maximas, and I think it's also somewhat related to the "Fuel Cut TSB". Mine doesn't jerk as much in 2nd, so I try to put it in 2nd whenever possible, but yeah, it's still a pain in the **** in stop'n'go driving.

Also, you may not have noticed it as much before because of your MAF issues. I noticed when the engine has more power (whether it happens via MAF cleaning, fuel filter replacement, coil/plug replacement, whatever) you feel the effect more dramatically. Eventually you intuitively learn how to avoid the jerking (usually involves extra clutch pedal action... after a while you'll get an intuitive idea of when it's going to happen, so you can push the clutch pedal to avoid it or whatever)

Its probably normal because the Maxima is so tourqey. With a combination of that and the gear ratios of the tranny, I think it's commonand normal. I've driven 2 other manual transmission 5th generation Maximas besides mine, both with low miles and perfect clutches, and they all jerk in 1st, and slightly in 2nd.
