Car hesitates help

Ok does anyone else have this problem when iam driving and decide to just slam on the gas pedal the car wont accelerate quick at all it takes literaly about 5-10 seconds before the rpms start climing.. I have no idea what it is maybe its just slow no idea its a 2k1 by the way. Can some on help me out plzzz need to correct this problem if possible..

do you have an ses light on or maybe seen it flashing? also, it sounds like you are auto, did you have any tsb work concering the auto tranny slip?

NO the ses light is not on it came on like couple of months ago but it went off and never came back on but its been doing it since i had the car and no tranny problems..

the code is most likely still stored. go to autozone and have them hook up the OBD2. get the code pulled and post it back up and we can help out a little better. the only reason i suggested tranny was that when the slipping gets real bad, you can punch it and the rpms climb but the car is not increasing.

clean your throttle body and maybe change your airfilter. a mechanic did this for me in jan and i guess i got used to it "gasping for air" when i punched it that i peeled out of the parking lot.

Ok what do i use to clean the throtle body and do i need to take it out of the car to clean it.. and if i do how hard is it to do..

check this . it could also be your coils/plugs/vias----just read threads from the last 2 weeks. read the threads that mention MAF, COILS and Hesitiaion

I'm sorry I can't help you with the technical aspects. check the stickies at the top of the forum for more info. i would look for them but I have a zoology test in 10 minutes. goodluck!
