what is the difference between the '01 3.0 and the '03 3.5 maf sensor? i see my 01 have 4 pins but the 03 have an extra pin in the connector. anyone have a diagram of what each pin does? will there be any problems connecting it to my car?

 

02-03 MAF sensors have a built in IAT (intake air tempature) sensor
and the 00-01 sensors do not have this

if you look at the 02-03 sensor u will see a resistor looking part...that is the IAT sensor

now look at the 00-01 sensor although it has the pins for the IAT sensor it does not have the resistor there

now idk why anyone would use an 02-03 sensor on an 00-01 since the 00-01 sensors are alot stronger

i have a 2k1 sensor on mine...all i did was transfer over the resistor and no SES light

alot of people with aftermarket intakes in the 02-03 maximas have "blown" their MAF sensors becuse it cannot handle the air flow

so alot of people with 02-03s replace them with 01 sensors and jsut swap the IAT sensor on there

oddly enough the 01 sensor is $88...while the 03 sensors are like $390
