Did you do it or did you take it somewhere? If you took it somewhere, did they do a power flush? You need to take it to a place that will hook up a machine to blow out the entire system, not just drain and fill. D&F leaves quite a bit of the old fluid and this mixes with the new, which would explain the darker color of the fluid.

Did the dealer do a drain or a flush? Flush would have gotten all the fluid, no need for another. A drain and fill may show the need for another.

Find out what you got then take it somewhere else for a full flush. Jiffy Lube does them for around $70 I believe.

Did you try checking the fluid yourself? If it's a brownish red color then it needs replacing and most likely a flush.

I believe on the autos, there is still fluid in the torque converter/bellhousing(not sure, but I know I had read about this). I believe someone has a write up on doing this yourself, and it ain't as easy as draining and refilling, or am I mistaken?

for the manual it is drain and fill.

You are correct. You can drain and refill, but that only gets about half. The rest is in the torque converter/bell housing (as you mentioned). After a drain, it is advisable to remove the pan and clean the magnets and clean or replace the screen.

A full flush can be done either by a mechanic or you can unhook your tranny cooler inlet tube and drain it yourself (there is a write up somewhere).

I do a drain and refill every 20k. Eventually I will get around to cleaning the magnets.

I know I had read about this a couple of months ago. I think one of the members here has a write up, but I can not remember for the life of me who does...
