this is the one I keep as a spare in my trunk....the dealer said it is the "updated" one for the 2k-1...I haven't actually compared it to the stock MAF to see if it looks different. Maybe when it stops raining.

Thank you irish44j For that PIC. Thats the one I have and the install is easy if you have swaped out your intake. Also I noticed that its also called a Volume air flow meter. so if some one say your VAF is messed up, Its also called the MAF.

are you getting the sensor or the entire MAF assembly?

113 is for the sensor only, IIRC.

For 2k's, do the new MAF sensors require an ECU flash? I recall a TSB of sorts for the 2k which required a new MAF sensor and an ECU reflash...

probably the assembly. A week after I installed my cai, it rained, and killed my MAF sensor. I just asked courtesy nissan what a new maf costs and he quoted me $366 (after the 25% off). Do I only need to replace the senor itself??

2k-2k1 MAFs are different than the 2k2-2k3. there are more sensors the 2k2-2k3 uses.......Nissan only sells the WHOLE ASSEMBLE (to make more money IMO) they never sell the sensor by itself.

I guess I'll give it a try...

I just ordered that part for kicks. I'm putting on Illuminas, Goodridge, and the Stillen Oil Cooler next weekend...I guess I'll toss in the MAF too. I'll post on my experience.

Can someone who has installed the MAF themselves answer this question:

Did you have to flash the ECU to get the new MAF to work properly?

I recently replaced the MAF on my 2K. The battery was disconnected so the ECU had to relearn everything but I don't think that's the same as a flash. Anyway, it seems to work fine.

If you want to flash your ECU I think you have to leave your battery disconnected overnight. Not sure though. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I have an extra MAF w/ that code lying around, just as a backup in case the one on now fails. If it does what you guys claim it can do, I'lll swap it out tomorrow. I think BioMaxDDS is gonna wish he hadn't sold those MAFs.

flashing the ecu would entail taking to a nissan/infiniti dealer with a consult 2 and having a certain aspect of the ecu's programming updated. if you disconnect the battery terminals for a certain amount of time, it can reset certain parameters in the ecu but most will not change.

That makes more sense. Leaving the battery disconnected would be too easy.
