GReddy Exhaust?

What's up everyone? I'm new here and I was just about to get my first mod for my 2001 SE. I have decided to go with exhaust and then I will look into intakes afterwards. From what my friends tell me, GReddy has a sweet exhaust system called the EVO. Even though my friends swear by this exhaust (along with the Injen CAI for when I get an intake), I also hear that Borla makes one of the best exhaust systems you can buy. I know nothing of performance mods yet, but I am learning! I would appreciate any suggestions and feedback. Thanks in advance.

The GReddy is a great choice in exhaust. Borla is good, but they design their products more for the GM cars. Yes, they do make exhaust for Nissan cars, but they currently don't offer any for the Maxima (per their website). Go with the GReddy if that is your other choice. A few more would be Cattman or Frankencar. Welcome to the .org BTW.

Don't know about the GReddy. But, I was told that the Injen CAI's aren't really hot. I was highly recommended a Berk CAI instead.

GReddy makes exhaust, that's what he's talking about.

I know. But he said he wanted a CAI too:

Greddy makes great products at a very reasonable price. Can't go wrong.

I Have the Evo as well and i Like it. U can drive and make it quite enough that u don't get pulled over when u need to but when u want the loud deep sound u can get it as well at certain Rpms. Good combination if u ask me!

No it wont sound ricey. I have the headers with the Greddy EVO and i love it. i agree with 2k2whitemaxi on the sound. Its like a 350Z. Mine is hard to describe with the headers....kinda like a 350Z but louder. I think youll like the sound youll get out of the Greddy, I do!!

My EVO is pretty good but it drones between 2.5K-3.5K RPM which just makes me turn the radio a few notches higher.

yep, it drones in irvine78's maxima as well between those rpms. He has a y-pipe along with the greddy evo

its loud in my opinion and he gets pulled over alot by the cops until he slapped on the 50 state legal sticker from greddy

Can a GReddy EVO for a 2001 Max fit on a 2002? Any downsides to that?

Also, is the EVO fully stainless?

Exhaust on a NA Maxima is not really a performance mod. All it does is make you think that your Maxima is faster but it's not. If you want to blow $500+ for catback Greddy, go for it. It gives nice deep tone. If I were you though, I would invest on a y-pipe and an intake for your 2k1. They will give much more HP than exhaust system.

I don't think it sounds like stock at all. It's got a bit more whine to it, almost likes some high-end sports car or something. I think it sounds great.

Gluteus Maxima, I know that you decided on having the exhaust system as your first mod, but try to think about the y-pipe... you'll get better gains for cheaper.

I agree with this statement 100%. Some manufacturers "claim" 10-20 hp increase with some exhaust systems. I don't know about other cars but ours just don't see that type of gain. I personally ran my my best times with my stock muffler.
Some people are looking for sound and some for looks. I just can't see shelling out $500+ for an exhaust system. That's just my opinion.

so the evo is legal but you still get pulled over? Also, has anybody done an install on the EVO or EVO2? If so, is it easy?
