HELP!!!!! Philly pot hole murdered my rim!
Guys please help! I hope I can depend and call on my fellow Maxima brothers for aid!
Last night in that terrible rain I hit something that flattened my tire. I changed the tire (to a donut) in the rain while wearing my suit since AAA (plus service) did not show up.
This morning I drove by the killer spot and the police has the crime scene roped and blocked off. The killer and pot the size of 2 basketballs! I told the cop what happened and he said I see!
The location of the pot hole is across the street from Philadelphia University (formerly Textile and Science) on 4200 Henry Avenue
I dropped the car off to Midas and they just called to say the rim is a done deal (cracked) and the tire along with it. he was able to find another rim but I think it cost too much.
I have a 2001 with stock 17s (Nitto tires).
thanks and God bless
Chris

Thanks for replying bruh. Good to see you are still around. How's the biz? I spoke to both Ola and Woo this morning about it. Ola has been a huge guide to me so far. Woo as well.
I think your 17s are different from mine. Mine has the Maxima center cap and your rims have the exposes bolts right?

Guys thanks for reading my thread here.
I desperately need a rim TODAY (Wednesday, April 14th)!
If you want to chat IM me but do not use this to tell me about the Philly pot holes. I already know about them since my rim has been destroyed.
thanks

Guys thanks so much for making my problem your priority! I truly appreciate your efforts. Since the hour is winding down a bit I may have to just choke on the price of a new rim and call it a day.
This is a sad day for me! @NgRyM@X will be on punishment this weekend for costing me so much darn money!
God bless
Chris

Yeah, listen to NT2SHBBY. Take pictures before they cover up the pothole. I noticed they've *finally* started covering up really bad potholes here in Forest Hills and Rego Park...can't say the same for the rest of Queens, though.

I thought I should share with you all the price or cost of a deadly pot hole. The result of hitting that monster last night will cost me the following:
New stock rim: $250 (cheaper than dealership I know)
Alignment: $59.99 (Standard charge at Midas)
Tire: $0 (using stock Bridgestones - so now I have 3 Nittos and 1 bridgestone)

On getting the city to pay for it you probably have a 50/50 chance.
Howver, if you can find proof that a report was filed, prior to your accident, with the city or PD, and they were aware of the hole your chances go up to around 100%. Something about negligence and priro knowledge on their part to repair a dangerous situation.

So here is an update on my killer pot hole situation.
Current: As of this evening the hole has fresh new tar packed in it. So I missed out on taking pictures of the hole still be there. But I took pictures anyway.
I drove to the nearest police station to get a report, was directed to another police station (no problem) so I drove there. Got the information I needed from a cute police officer. She gave me the "DC" which is what I will send to the city lawyers offices. Oh and I already have a call into his office as of this morning.
Now, I have a nice brand new 17 inch rim on @NgRyM@X with the Bridgestone Potenza shoe. Still no match for the Nittos on the other three.
I will also take picture of the rim and tire for you guys to see (if interested).
So far the car rides normal but it's hard to tell right now. I will give it some time and a dry day to put it to the real test.
I will keep you guys posted on my quest to get the city to pay me the money I lost! If they know me they will pay up.
thanks and stay tuned

Dude you got off cheap--i hit something in the road last august and took out two rims and stock shoes. The rims were 698 apiece. Plus they charged me about 200 for the Potenzas. Don't know what i hit but there was no pot hole there. I feel your pain and be glad there was no suspension damage.

See, dude. I told you they'd fix it. Cities always wait for sh*t to happen and then take action. "Be pre-emptive?", says the city. "Naah. Let someone damage their vehicle or break a leg first. Then we'll do something."
Bastards.
Bastards.

MaxmaSE, I don't know how old you are but when it comes to spending money I don't play! I never, ever, ever believe the sticker price! Everything is negotiable in my world! If someones going to take it up the rear it is not going to be me. So to the best of my abilities I am going to damn near kill myself to make sure that the city of philly compensate me for this bullsh!t!
You hear me!? Good!
