How much for a 2002?
How much for a 2002?
My girlfriend wants an SUV and she's checkin out the 4Runner. So she's looking to get rid of her 2002 SE and was wondering how much she could get for it. I went to kbb.com and what I got out was $15,825 for a trade-in, $18,410 private party, and it would be $21,130 on the dealer lot. Supposedly kbb is on the high side, so anyone have any idea what she would get for the car? Most likely selling on her own b/c we went to a toyota dealer and asked about a trade in and they said $12K is the list, but we can give you more (yeah, thanks). I'm sure I can get more out of them for a trade, and not sure how much more, but obviously will get more selling it privately.
I don't remember exactly what the options were on it new, but in general it's blue with black leather, navigation, bose, 6 disc changer, sunroof.....I think that's about it. 35K miles and it's in pretty much perfect condition. Thanks.

Yeah, I was looking through that forum a little, but I can't even get an idea of what really to ask. I see a lot of people advertising on autotrader.com and when I put in 2002 Maxima in there a lot of those cars are up in the 20K range. I'd do backflips to get that for her car, but I think it's highly unlikely.
Well, that's what the toyota dealer told her, which is obviously a starting point. I'm just wondering what the car is worth if I was selling it to someone on the street. I think KBB's price of around 18.5 sounds decent I guess. I have no idea what to even ask for it though. Actually going to the dealer tonight to open more serious discussions, so this should be fun.
