I punched out the Factory Catalytic Converter today and while taking it off broke one of the studs. It was one on the rear of the Cat. Anyways, I just put a bolt and nut on for now till I can find a new stud for it. Well back to the Punched Out Cat, Does anyone know how much extra HP you get from this if any? I thought the Max would be louder but to my dismay it was the same as before I punched it out. I now want to get a PowerTech 1011 Muffler for it and was wondering how much louder it ight make it.

 

the gains you get are hardly any and getting that muffler will make your car louder...lithuimax just installed his i believe along with a cattman y-pipe.

Oh, I guess we should stop all the motorcycles in the country from riding and then of course, no more off road racing in Cali, destroys the enviroment way to much. I forgot how incredibly clean California is, SMOG!! Hmmmmmmmm I believe they shouldn't even sell cars there anymore till the air is clean enough to breathe. Just had to say it, plus the Maxima has another Cat thats good enough!

 

test pipe really helps on the 3.0L maximas, I finally melted my precat on my 01 Maxima today, found deposits flying out of my exhaust. So I took down the front precat, punched that SOB right out. Now I have no cats at all. I found out that car became alot faster now since my old one melted down completly inside. I am waiting for my check engine light to come on since my car is cali spec and had 3 cats on it. I only had this one precat left and never had any check engine lights- other than for blown MAFs ( 5 to be exac )
