Welcome to the Org. I would say Colgan Custom bras are better than OEM. I bought an OEM bra years ago and it was about half as thick as the Colgan. It would ballon and flap at interstate speeds. The Colgan bra is unflappable even at high speeds. I have been using them since 1989.

Go with the Colgan. I've had one for a few years now, and I only really use it for long trips in dry weather, but it's great. The fit is nice and quality is all there.

If you want to really complete the look and be **** about things, go for the Colgan mirror covers too.

Peace

i say neither. they trap dirt and rub it on the paint like sandpaper.
get the 3M clear bra. it sticks to the car so nothing gets underneath. it protects and you dont even see it

I would have to agree! I have the OEM bra which I use when going on long trips, so its not on there all the time. If I had to do it over again I think I would get the 3M clear bra or X-Pel clear bra. Spend the extra money.

Get a 3M clear bra. Invinca-shield.com has very good prices. How-to here: http://www.innerbean.com/housecor/clear_bra.html

I haven't gotten a single chip in a protected area since I installed this 6 mths. ago.

That is totally false. I used a bra on my 92 Max for nearly 10 years and it did not cause any paint fading or visible paint damage from using the bra.

Get a clear bra, no fading at all.

I've had a OEM nose mask for a year now and it's fine. It fits good, looks good, and does not flap at high speeds. It is a bit of a hassle to have to remove it if it gets wet but it seems everytime I don't have it on more paint chips appear.

yeah sure then the paint will be fine, but who wants to do all that just to maintain paint..... clear bra goes on once, permanent and nothin to remove.... and its $70....how can u go wrong
Yes, I did take it off each time I washed the car. I cleaned the underside of the bra as needed. I don't mind doing it at all. A 2 piece bra is not designed for lazy folks that don't want to remove it on a regular basis. You can go wrong with only having the clear bra on the hood and doing nothing to protect the bumper and fender edges. You have to spend well over $200 to protect the same areas with the clear bra that a 2 piece Colgan Custom bra protects.

Well said. I spent around $260 on my clear bra to protect the hood, bumper including the lower section under the fogs, a few inches behind the headlights, and the mirrors. Nearly invisible, maintenance free, and not a single nick since installation - to me, it was well worth the extra $.
