Finally in Chicago the weather has been nice so I've been riding my motorcycle to work and left the Maxima at home. I get in the car and I notice I have a little more trouble than normal getting in - hmmm - the seat isn't back.

When I put in the key the seat usually moves up for me, of course it didn't because it already was forward.

Memory buttons don't respond and the Auto/Cancel switch has no effect (left in Auto all the time).

The owners manual as far as fuses go sux the big one - it just shows you where they are...argh. Nothing on the little door on the kick panel or under the hood does it indicate one for power seat or memory seat or anything.

Everything else in the car works (power seat works, just not memory function or auto roll back) so I'm not sure which fuse it would be under.

Anybody know of something I can check before I have to make an appt at the dealer? It's under warranty, but if it's something simple I'd rather just do it myself.

I just took my '03 in to the dealer for a similar problem. The driver's seat all of sudden didn't respond to the auto forward/back when you put the key in/out. But in my case the seat wouldn't go forward or back with the power button either. It would go in all the other directions (up/down/tilit), though. Dealer said there was a TSB on it and they ordered a part for it. They had to take the seat out to swap out the part. Works fine now.

 

Sounds like you had a slightly different problem.

Mine is as if I just didn't have the memory or auto feature. All the other power seat controls work fine.

Yeah - so the memory and auto feature started working again last night and worked this morning. I made a couple of stops and it was working fine until I got home and then it stopped again - WTF????

Doesn't seem like a fuse or anything at this point - argh.. now as soon as I make an appt for the dealer it'll start working again.
