removing dash...

i was wondering how can i remove the faceplate of the climate control area. i have the lcd climate control. I want to remove the faceplate part so i can paint it, but i dont know how to remove that piece off... i'm referring to the piece that surrounds all the buttons... btw i have a 00 max.. thanks

first of all, u have to take the dash apart... unscrew the screw in the coin holder...pop up the quarter coin holder that will let u get the shifter console out...... behind the console is 2 screws.....then pop off the ac vents....there's 2 more screws, the radio/ac controls is all screwed together....disconnect the wires....flip to back of it...there's 2 screws that hold the radio/ac together.....the 2 screws on each side of the ac controls and it just comes out....then u can take the plate off.....

oh... cool... i never got that far, cause i only installed my head unit, and it didnt require taking off the ac unit... i'll take a look at it when i get back... hehe

on the lcd control, the 'faceplace' is actually aprt of the control unit. don't think you can remove it. just take it all out and mask it off and paint.

hmmm... anyone else know the answer? is it possible to remove the plate? If i mask it, the paint may get all over the place and might mess up the unit... i need some feedback... thanks guys
