ummmm it depends on what gear the tranny is in!!!
rpm will equal diffirent speeds in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and OD.
and i know you said "cruising on the highway" that still doesnt indicate a gear. i could be "cruising" behind a grandma and my rpms are 2500 but im only going 40 because im in second gear

apparently two other people who posted before you understood what he was talking about and i'm assuming as well that he's talking about 4th gear/od, since that's the gear you usually cruise in on the highway. and i'm not sure for 2500rpm, i'm usually cruisin close to 3000rpm, where i'm going about 85mph, i'll have to remember to look closely tomorrow morning

it's usually around 70-75 at 2500 rpm. That's crusing speed.

It's very unlikely that you will ever cruise in 1st,2nd or 3rd at highway speeds. Be reasonable.

Let's not forget different wheel sizes, for those of you who +1, +2 or +3 your tires.

Why not just set cruise at whatever speed and time a 20-30-40 mile run on the highway, using the highway markers. Over that distance any error in the placement of the mile markers will be negligible.

Simple math will get you your real speed which you can compare to whatever you set your cruise at.

Okay, whats wrong with my car. I can only cruise at like 65mph at around that rpm with my 5 speed. Any ideas cause it feels as if i might be wasting more gas than I need to.

5 speeds are geared different so 2500 rpm at 65 for a stick is normal.

Yes 80MPH@2500RPM in 6th gear is right.

Anybody want me to check what speed it would be for 4000RPM on 6th gear? I'll get right on it! ^_^
