Top Element Tuning produced this prototype of a CF sunroof deflector for me to try. Just curious what you guys think of it, and see if there's enough intrest , to have it made......at a reasonable price . I put it on today.....has some imperfections, since its not the final product.

I'm assuming being that this is just the prototype, the final product will not have the little indentions this one has right? I think it looks good overall. If I had a sunroof, I'd think about getting it.

No sun roof here,but I want to know where you got your hood and for how much?

 

Mine is cracked too but if I remember alot of people were having that problem with the deflector doesn't really stand out all that much to make it worth buying...

 

I tthink it looks pretty good, although it seems like it sticks up pretty high. Would look nice on the cars with CF hoods, imo. I think my sunroof deflector is a little more effective though

 

That deflector basically renders the sunroof useless. It does a good job of deflecting the wind over the bikes though...

 

how does it render the sunroof useless exactly....the sunroof still opens and the breeze actually comes in lightly "backwards" if that makes any sense....if you have the windows open the suction pulls a gentle breeze in through the roof, its kind of nice.

But I was joking about it being a sunroof deflector...it's really there to reduce wind noise from the roof rack, obviously.

Also, I can run at highway speeds in the rain with the sunroof all the way open and not get wet

Man, that is hott, I was out looking for a deflector today and I'm willing to lay down whatever for that one. Will shipping cost be included in the price?

 

For real, the mod I mentioned above alone is rumored to give you 10hp.

 

I think it goes well with all the other CF pieces on your car. IMO if you want a sun deflector there is NO reason not to buy a CF one.

 

4th gens or just 5ths ?

 

I think the same sunroof deflector is used on both Gens.....but I might be wrong.

 

Cool idea! If it's based off a stock deflector, then it will fit 4th & 5th gens...

 

I'd be in for one, my stock one looks like crap after 50k miles. Let us know on the price when it's available....

I would probably be in for one also. I'm on my 3rd deflector and now this one is cracked. Although, I haven't paid for any of the replacements, it's a pain to go to the dealer and demand replacements. Looking forward to pricing.

Yeah, I cant complain with a company trying to develop/manufacture parts for our cars. If someone doesnt like them, I dont see anybody holding a gun to their head to purchase them.

I consider myself a "performance" only mod man. But I saw somewhere that TET was developing defusers for front and back. Yes, they would have benefit at a high rate of speed. Will I ever travel fast enough to get benefit from them...more than likely no. But from the smallest little pic that I saw, I liked how they looked and am anxious to hear more about them.

 

Well, it costs marginally more then the stock piece as slammed95 says, i think it looks great, and it's subtle. i want a new one anyways. So what the hell u know.
It does it for me, count me in when they are available.

I'd be on one I never had a deflector on my car and I notice the screws on it. Is this something that I have to drill to the car.

 

If it is like the OEM it has a J shaped bracket that hooks on the edge around the sunroof and then the screws screw into that to hold it down. The only part that touches the exterior of the car is the rubber gasket.
