Rattle from rear of car, not Bose or Sub related??

I have rattle coming from the rear of the car. I have turned the radio off so I know it's not my sub. It only seems to happen when going over bumps but not necessarily large bumps. Trying to figure out if this is just something loose inside or if it could be related to a rear suspension component. I can't pinpoint if it is coming from inside or outside since I haven't had a chance to have someone else drive while I sit in back. Has anyone experienced anything like this??

Try checking out this TSB:

http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/tsb/NTB99-056f.pdf

This has a bunch of rattle fixes in it... i remember seeing something about the fuel pump drop resistor... look at pages 14-21. Let us know if that helps at all... you might even find a way to fix other rattles in there.

You won't believe this, but I finally managed to climb in my trunk through the back seat while my wife drove, and I found out my rattle..

The trunk latch mechanism has some parts that swivel and "lock in place" when latched.. This is all metal on metal with a metal pinion to rotate on.

Sure enough, that was it. Furthermore, the trunk latch was so tight it was yanking the latch mechanism really hard when my car was hitting bumps..

I tied a thin piece of dental floss around the pinion so as to take up the space so the metal plate could no longer rattle, and voila -- fixed!!

I still have one small noise -- it's coming from one of my shock towers.. I think something's a little loose from my spring install.. it's nowhere near as loud though..

The trunk latch rattled so loud it sounded as if my car was falling apart.. LOL!

Good luck!! Climb in the back while someone drives, like I did. It will work wonders..

Nice work on the fix. Ive been trying to find a rattle on the front passenger side.

BTW, if you think your suspension is rattling, you may want to check it out.

Other interior rattles I've found:

* Door light (clear) in lower door panel is loose, hot glue or tape will fix that
* Front seats are bolted into floor, but one of my bolts came loose over time and made noises when I shifted around in my seat sometimes
* Center console below A/C controls where ashtray and lighter go, is very rigid and when it flexes, it makes noise
* Center dash at windshield (behind clock) makes popping sound sometimes on huge bumps (it has gotten loose over time)
* Center armrest clip is slightly loose, but doesn't make too much noise unless you're leaning on it all of the time
* Sunroof shade can rattle, but mine doesn't
* Glove box also can rattle, but mine doesn't
* Loose wires/plugs if you unplugged/removed your Bose HU and left them dangling..
