the dealership is one option. Someone posted a link to another site a while back that was supposed to actually have BETTER-matched touchup paints for cars than what was available at the dealership. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

The nissan sterling mist touch up paint DOES NOT MATCH. Waste of $5. It is much lighter than the OEM paint and is visible from quite far off unless you use very very little of it like on an extremely small paint chip.

As far as the sterling mist being too light, silver paint in a touch up bottle will easily separate while it is sitting for a while. Shake it really good (like 15 minutes, and then come back for more) and reapply. It might give you better results.

I wanted to touch up a couple of really small door dings and about a 1 inch scratch down the door...so is the best way to apply the paint is to do it in 2 steps so the color will last and not lighten? i also have a couple of scratches on my headlight...is there any type of scratch remover for glass or anything???

Lack of proper mixing was not the issue. I shook it for much longer than 15 minutes.
If you are going to be putting it in a spot that is bigger than say half a BB or something you are going to see it from quite a distance. 2 steps? Heck you could do 5 coats of touch up and it will be the same. The color is just too light. Its not even close. Go with something other than the Nissan touch up paint.

I used the sterling mist touch-up paint for my license plate hole plugs, and it actually matched pretty well for me. I shook vigorously, and used several heavy coats like an idiot, but it didn't end up chunky looking, which was good. However, in trying to use it on a small chip in my front bumper, it looked like crap as I began to apply it, so I stopped.

Perhaps you can find a better solution than the touch up paint, or leave the dings and scratch be.

Has anyone had any experience with the Nissan majestic blue touch-up paint? How did it match?

I ordered some touch up for 2k2 Glacier Pearl. Boy that doesn't even come close. It came out more like Sterling Mist. I've asked again, and they tell me I have the right one. So, if anyone has any ideas on this....let me know!

Yeah, I can attest-the Sterling Mist is a terrible, TERRIBLE match. You can shake it until you're blue in the face and that $hit still won't look right.

The pen is like $11-$12 and it is not worth it, in my opinion. The paint "blob" left behind is not as bad as with the little brush included with the regular touch-up bottles. But you're probably better off using the regular touch-up paint and applying it with a toothpick.

I posted this before, but it got MOVED to another section.
While we're talking about touch up paint...
Does anyone happen to know of a good match for Mille Migilia EV-S bright silver paint?
Don't most of the Mille's use the same silver?
Any help would be great.

Yes that stuff doesnt work on the Glacier Pearl it makes your damage look much worse than it was before.

I ordered paint from paintscratch.com. It's expensive and a two step process but it matches. The Glacier Pearl from Nissan looks too silvery.

I ordered the paint pens and didn't really care for them. I think in the future I will stick with the bottle and brush.

I agree, paintscratch.com does a nice job. I would also suggest not getting the pen, just the regular bottles, also avoid the rubbing compound they sell.
