SES light code and Clear Bra

Whats up everyone I just got my car checked at Autozone, because the SES light was on and I had a code P1456. Does anyone know what this is? and how to fix it? I also wanted to ask for your opinions on where I could get some protection for my front end, like a clear bra but I want to get the bumper, hood, headlights, and front fender. kinda like the one housecor has. I just wanna see what my choices are before I get one. Thanks everyone.

yeah I saw it. The OBDII scanner said that it was Manufacterers control auxillary emmissions controls and P1456 was the code it displayed.

Was the scanner set for the Maxima or was it scanning generic OBDII? Generic code as well as other import vehicles the P1456 has to do with Leak Detected In EVAP Control System, gas cap leak, and in BMWs it is Heated Catalyst Heater Power Supply Open Circuit (Bank 1).

If your SES light is still iluminated then make sure your gas cap is on tight and see if it goes away. Other wise get the EVAP system checked.

hmmmm....I guess it wasnt set up for the Maxima cause she just pulled it out from underthe counter and came outside with me and just plugged it in. She did no settings to it. Sounds like the problem is so simple if it is what you said it was. I'll go close my gas cap tighter and see if it goes away. So ure saying that if it doesnt go away I should go take it to get an EVAP test done to it?? I hope its nothing serious. Thanks

Yeah, sounds like it was just a OBDII Generic scanner (which isn't a bad thing mind you, it just dosnt give you manufacturer specific codes which can differ from generic). If that is indeed the code that was displayed, it is not Maxima specific per-se' which pretty much means you have to look for generic code definitions. In your case the generic code deals with the EVAP system leak (gas tank/fuel return system). This could be as simple as the gascap (usually is) or a selonoid in the EVAP system got stuck open so to much pressure was gained/lost. I too hope it is just the gas cap. Good luck!
