Pics of LED's in Speedo finally up.

And what happen you did not PM?

I'm not going to try and steal any of your thunder I'd just like to do this myself. I like to tinker and this is relatively inexpensive. I haven't done any of the leds in the car yet and I want to make sure I get something that matches all around when I buy the leds.
This is great info for me to go buy. Anything else you can post or pm on the job would be great. I'm going to do the climate control as well. If I get it done before you I'll forward what I learn to you. Also we need to figure out how to do the needles too.
Thanks,
Adam

I also hooked up a blacklight LED in my climate control and it worked. As soon as I get some more LED's in I'll finish that up. At least I know how to do it. That's an extreme PIA to do these three bulbs. No way of using the holders on these. the LED must be solderd directly on to the board with the resistor.
Also CustomMaxima I sent you a reply. Are you sure you want 1,100 MCD LEd's that's not too bright but if that's the exact # you want I'll order the LED's. How many do you want. Just the speedo, which is 4?

I posted before that the only thing not too bright is the needles due to the orange. I have some clear and black needles and hooked them to my spare speedo and it looked very nice. I'm scared that if I mess with the needles that they'll never be the same. The speedo instructions worked on calibrating the needles but I couldn't remove them very easily.

Could you tell me what size the original LEDs were in the speedo, Climate Control & anything else in the dash you've done were. I'm going to use the same size as original and I noticed after looking at the ones in my doors in my 2k2 the rears are 3mm and the 7 in the front are smd LEDs. I'm going to use lower 250-500 mcd LEDs in the doors because all I can find are 250 mcd smd's so to match I'll do the same for the 3mm in the rear and use the stock rubber holders with 1/8w resistors for them.
If you're going to supply these for people you may want to try it this way. It'll be a lot easier to bend the leads through the rubber piece than all the cutting and soldering you did on yours. I wish my fronts were like this too, it would make the job much quicker. If you still have those rubber pieces you can do these for others as you have something to start with.
I ordered a bezel for the speedo along with a dash kit for my M/T 2k2 from Custom Maxima today so I can do it all at once. But I'd like to make sure I order the right LED's and resistors for it at the same time.
Thanks for the info and help.
First there are no LED's in the speedo it's little light bulbs. And the same for the climate control. The speedo and climate control are completely different. And if you go with such a low mcd on the LED's, they won't be much brighter than stock. I know my main reason for doing this is because I want them brighter and a different color. I've got my method of doing these, it took me a while to figure it out and I'm sticking with it. It doesn't take me too long to do it now that I've done it so many times. You have your own way, then do it. There aren't too many ways of doing this because it's so small.
