right hand drive

i was just wondering if anyone had concidered converting a 5th gen max to right hand drive. i know the cefiro is rhd and i know they share some of the same parts. i know my max will never be concidered a fast car or anything showstopping, but rhd would be awesome.

the bottom right pic looks like 5th gen interioer just switched around and with a diff wheel.

im aware of how much work it would take to make this happen, but id be willing to rip my car apart to do it. im sure someone has done it already, someone has to be as crazy as me. if anyone know that would be cool.

do you think it'll be cheaper to convert to rhd then add some boost or something? I mean, if having people look at you like you're crazy is more important that seeing those V8 lovers ****ed about you being quicker, then go for it

waste of money, not worth it, take the money and repaint your car, do some crazy bodywork, or engine work... but the right hand drive wont be worth it....also, is it legal to purposely change it to right hand drive?

Strangely enough, its never even crossed my mind to do that. I don't know how much it would cost, but you'll definately turn a lot of heads with it. Maybe if it turns out good we could get a group deal started

for the love of all maximas, why?

besides, you will need to move stuff inside your engine bay to make this work (oh yes, it's real easy you know).

just thought id look into it and grab info from all of you guys, not sure im gonna do it, prob not for a while, till my funds are a little better

i find it kinda odd that noone has done it yet, hard to believe im like the only one that finds it at the least bit intresting, theres so many normal max's out there itd be nice to have something a lil differant. we are all about the amount of dedication and imagination we put into our cars, didnt think id get so burned for alslight bit of creativity

I own a RHD car, a 1952 MG TD and although it's cool as he11 to drive an RHD around, if it was up to modern performance standards (hey, it's 52 yrs old!) it'd be a challenge in traffic. Not that you couldn't get used to it, but things like passing on a 2-lane road would become much more difficult since you'd need to be about all the way in the other lane to even get a look.

Beyond that, I think you'll find that the expense is waaaaaaaaay more than you think.

ColdSHO im with you and im totally about having stuff nobody else has. if i won the lotto id make my max awd and rhd or something insane like that. but it really isnt practical when you look at what else you could spend the money on. you could put a very hefty down payment on a new car for the cost...i know that not your objective, your point is to be unique etc, but still, gotta weigh ur options.

3Pedals...never thought about passing on a 2 lane road, that would definitely suck. not that i ever drive 2 lane roads but still

Yeah, it's funny the things you wouldn't think would matter, but they do. Suddenly you prefer right corners to left since you're on the inside. It is pretty cool putting my 7 year old in the left seat though and seeing peoples reactions before they figure it out.

I guess if you really wanted to you could round up all of the parts from New Zealand or Australian Maxima's.
