what drops can be done w/ 20s on a 2k1??

Hey guys, a friend of mine just bought a 2k1 SE. He has already ordered 20s for it with 235/35/20 tires. does anyone know what drops he can do without rubbing? He's thinking about Eibachs right now, but I figured I would see if anyone knew if they would rub. Thanks for any input you can give.

Well, to give you an idea of the issues he might have, I'm running stock 17's on Progress and can hear a slight rub when the wheel is locked. I wouldn't recommend anything lower than Eibach, Maxspeed, or H&R for 20's. Of the 3, H&R is the best for ride - which I'm thinking will be his #1 priority once he feels how rough the car rides on heavy 20's.

I'm on 20's with stock suspension and my ride is as good as factory, didn't get a bit rougher when i made the switch.

Not any rougher? I find that hard to believe considering an extremely low profile tire that would obviously be necessary. Nonetheless, if you can't tell a difference

Also, PM Titaniumax03 - he has 20's on Progress. Ask him about ride. All I know is he doesn't run his 20's anymore and has been trying to sell em to get 19's.

I don't think there is such thing as 235/35/20 tires. I believe 245/35/20 is the size he probably got. If this is not the case I apologize and would like to know where he got that size of tire becasue I am looking at putting 20s on and need a slightly shorter tire than 245/35/20.

You were either running your Potenzas at 50 PSI, ride on perfect asphalt roads all the time or you have a very, very insensitive butt....

Actually I know for a fact that someone makes 235/35/20 not sure who tho, but I have seen 225/35/20 if you can believe that.

erty67-let me know when there is another RI/MA meet I would go.

Yeah Toyo makes the 225 35 20 but they are almost impossible to find. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me who makes the 235 35 20 because that is what I need. Thanks

Sumitomos, I live in a small town of about 1000 so the roads are pretty ****ty in most places.

really? I went from my factory 15 steelies to 18"s with 245-40 and I could tell a lot of difference. So i think your statement is false and can lead other members to unwanted results.

ya im runnin 245/35 tires w/ 20s and Progress springs..no problem at all with rubbing..rides is pretty decent, nothing to complain about..only reason I want to switch to 19's is for lighter wheels..but as of now, my 20's are doing me just fine..
