K&N Cone Filter Sizes?

Want to put a 7" K&N cone filter on my 2001 Maxima. What I planned on doing is buying the plastic piece that holds the MAF (sorry don't know part number) without the MAF and then cut it down. Take that cut down piece and attach it to the piece with the MAF already there and insert the K&N filter in to the cut-down piece. So, if you are still following along and this all makes sense, a few questions:

1. Anyone actually done this and possibly have instructions?
2. What size flange would I need? I think 3.5", but want to make sure
3. Anyone know the part # for that plastic piece without the MAF and where to buy it?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Ask Bryan at Berk Technology about the MAF adapter he has in his kits. It sounds like the piece you need, it mounts the filter and bolts to the existing MAF in your car.

The reason for getting another MAF tube is because then the square lip with the bolt holes will match up and make it an easy on/easy off mod. I can cut up the spare MAF tube without mucking up the original and can just put the original intake back in place very easily. However, the Berk kits do seem to be exactly what I need. I will probably just go with them. Thanks for the suggestions.

Just e-mail Bryan, from Berk, he will hook u up in 1 to 2 days, and I mean, on your doorstep. I don't know who he does it, I placed an order late on Monday, had it on Wednesday.

I have the Berk midpipe, Bryan sold it to me for $55 with all the clamps and silicone couplers, you can use whatever 3" filter you have or pick up. I had a JWT Pop Charger, bolted right up, Bryan even sends you the bracket, remember it goes under the stock airbox bracket, remove bolt, place bracket under and put bolt thru airbox bracket, then thru bryans bracket, into threaded hole in fenderwell.

Sorry, I just docovered that last night at 12:00AM when I was installing my wifes.

The Berk intake has a monster sound! Just order it, you will save money, from Bryan, his parts are really priced well, and he is realy reliable.

Good Luck!
