This is actually the girlfriend of tkostiuk4, but I just got my '02 Maxima SE and the tweeter on the driver's side sounds muffled. I took it to a Nissan dealership and they said nothing was wrong but that a burned CD wasn't formatted right. So I took it home and when I listen to the radio it's fine, but now any CD I play, burned or not, has a muffled sound coming out of the driver's side tweeter. I only have 2 miles until the manufacturer's warranty is up. Any suggestions?

 

take it in with a good CD or have them use your own. It is probably the left side that is messing up.
There has been a ton of problems with that. They should be able to replace it under warranty. Just make sure to tell them its only when you play a CD.
