'02 Tranny Flush
'02 Tranny Flush
Dealer told me that I need one but i didn't have time for them to do it. Is it worth going somewhere else like Jiffy Lube or doing it myself? If so, does anyone have instructions?

The alternative I decided on was to drain and refill rather than a flush for my 02. It was simple and easy since I didn't drop the pan. Almost exactly four quarts are removed when the trans pan is drained, out of nine total. Drain, drive a few or a few hundred miles, it really doesn't matter, and do it twice more. You need 12 quarts of new ATF and end up with approx 82% new fluid. I bought a case of Chevron ATF for $0.89 per quart. Dropping the pan and cleaning the suction screen might help if you have a lot of miles. For this, it has been recommended that new bolts be used and you need a gasket.
